Before 2019 IPU conducted their own IPU CET for admission to MCA program but for 2019 – 2020 admissions ranking from NIMCET were considered for their admissions
The previous exam pattern was as follows
Bachelor’s Degree of a recognized University in any discipline with at least 50% marks in aggregate and must also have passed Mathematics and English (core or elective or functional) at least at the Senior School Certificate Examination (Class XII) of the CBSE or any other Examination recognized as equivalent thereto.
BCA/BIT/BIS of a recognized University of at least three years duration with at least 50% marks in aggregate or any qualification recognized as equivalent thereto.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology or a qualification recognized as equivalent thereto with at least 50% marks in aggregate.
(i) Mathematics – (25%),
(ii) English Language & Comprehension-(25%),
(iii) Computer Awareness-(25%),
(iv) Logical and Analytical Ability-(25%).
The test paper will contain 150 objective-type questions in all. Each question will be provided with four alternative answers marked (1), (2), (3) and (4). Of these, only one correct or most appropriate answer should be selected and marked on the OMR sheet. Each question shall carry four marks. Each of the tests will be of two and half hour duration and will carry 600 marks. There will be negative marking for incorrect answers. One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The medium of the tests will be English only. Admission of a candidate will be on the basis of marks obtained in the Common Entrance Test.
