Eligibility Criteria for JEE Main 2024:

  1. Age Limit: There is no age limit for candidates appearing in the JEE Main examination. However, candidates must have passed their Class 12 examination or its equivalent in 2022 or 2023 or must be appearing in the Class 12 examination in 2024.
  2. Educational Qualification:
    • Candidates must have completed their Class 12th examination or any equivalent qualifying examination from a recognized board.
    • Candidates must have studied Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the following subjects: Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational Subject.
  3. Percentage Requirement: There is no minimum percentage requirement for appearing in the JEE Main examination. However, candidates need to pass each subject individually.

Eligibility Criteria for JEE Advanced 2024:

    1. Age Limit: To be eligible for JEE Advanced 2024, candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1999. Relaxation in age may be provided for reserved categories as per government norms.
    2. Performance in JEE Main: Candidates must qualify in the JEE Main examination and be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all categories) in Paper-1 of JEE (Main) 2024.
    3. Educational Qualification:
      • Candidates must have appeared for the Class 12th examination (or equivalent) for the first time in either 2022 or 2023.
      • Candidates must not have taken admission (by any means) in any recognized Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) or ISM Dhanbad.
      • Candidates must have secured a rank in the top 20 percentile of their respective board examinations.
    4. Number of Attempts: A candidate can attempt JEE Advanced for a maximum of two consecutive years.

The questions in JEE Advanced comprise Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with four options, one of which is correct, as well as Numerical Answer Type Questions.

 

Paper 1- Marking Scheme For JEE Advanced 2024
  • Questions with a Single Correct Response: There are four possible answers to these questions, and only one of them is accurate.
  • Questions with one or More Correct Answers: There are four possible answers to these questions, and one or more of them may be accurate. If you choose one or more correct answers and leave out any erroneous answers, you will receive partial credit for these questions.
  • There are no options available for the questions with single-digit integer answers. Candidates must enter the answer using the virtual keyboard, which is a single-digit integer number with one digit, either positive or negative.
  • Questions with Answers in Decimal Places Up to Two: Answers to these questions will include a decimal portion, as the name would imply.
